Her I am again today - in my apartment - Sheltering in Place and doing my part to stop the Corona Virus.
Trying not to listen to all the bad news on TV -- but still staying informed. Thankful for Youtube -- Listening to Piano Worship for hours.
Quiet times..... this is not something we are accustomed to doing. Even at 74 years old, I have a busy life and interact with lots of people in my home building and also teaching art classes to Seniors three times a week. I miss my students. I miss seeing my neighbors and playing cards with my favorite peeps.
We need interactions.. We need to be able to touch others and be touched.
My son bought me a care package this week. He had cooked some very good meals and
shared with me along with some other things that he thought I might need. I was so BLESSED to receive this care package at the front door of my building. We bumped elbows; which made us both sad. We will save our HUGS for later. It is a lonely place around here even in a building with 156 apartments. Sheltering in Place is SAD.
Thank you Jesus for Cell Phones. I have talked to friends that I usually only text. Have text with people that I haven't heard from in a while.
Yesterday my daughter Face Timed me with her whole family. It was so good to see them and we all talked. I even took a screen shot of the group so I could see them later after conversation was over. Faced timed my cousin -- caught her cleaning the bathroom but we still got to see each other and it was kinda like being together.
Catching up on all the crazy stuff on Hulu and Netflix. Sharing with others in building by text when we find something good to watch. YouTube is so great!! Most churches are doing their services online and if you need to know anything -- IT IS ON YOUTUBE!!
I am so grateful for the view I have from my apartment. That is the highlight of sheltering in place -- at least I can see for miles -- when it hasn't been raining or foggy. One day I went to the roof and just sat in the Sunshine for about an hour as I listened to my book on phone. (that is something else I should share -- see below)
I have the LIBBY App... with your Library card # you can listen to any audible book that is in the Library. All for FREE!!!! It is awesome! Even while I am just hanging out here in my shelter ...... I have been listening to some great books. Check the blog post Read or Travel. I am keeping it updated with books I read.
OK.... Enough of my rambling from the recliner.
Just listened to a teaching from 2 Chronicles 7: 13, 14 and 2 Chronicles 20:12
When, If and Then?.......... This is our Instruction when we don't know what to do.
2 Chronicles 7: 13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 20:12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attaching us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.
2 Chronicles 20:12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attaching us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.
